In this project, Jacquard weaving was used as a mean to show the properties of the weaving programming language itself, not as a tool to faithfully reproduce an original composition. Each operation was approached from the perspective of the binary system, of mathematics and of geometry that are at play in Jacquard. The goal was to represent Jacquard weaving as an autonomous system rather than as a mean to another end. These pieces are putting forward the unique properties and potential of Jacquard weaving: pixelated compositions, integration of non-conventional materials and reversibility.
